Siding Meeting FAQs
Posted On: June 15, 2025
A siding meeting for homeowners was held on June 9, 2025 to discuss the siding project. The board has compiled these questions and answers for homeowners who were not able to attend. If you have further questions not covered on this page, please contact Linda Stanko at lstanko@hillcrestmgmt.com.
When will the project start?
We do not have an exact start date yet, but the project will be completed before Thanksgiving. It could start as early as July 1. We are currently in the middle of an insurance claim. We must wait for the insurance company to perform an appraisal before we can start the project because they must have the opportunity to inspect the siding as it is on our buildings, therefore we cannot yet remove the siding to start the project.
How long will the project take?
ABC is planning to do 3 buildings per day, and each building will take 2-3 days to complete. The entire project should be done within 6 weeks, weather permitting. If the project starts later in the year due to the insurance claim, ABC can add extra manpower to the project to ensure it gets done before it is too late in the year. Whatever the outcome of the claim, the work will be done this year.
What interruptions can I expect?
ABC will do their best to minimize interruptions to your day. You can expect moderate noise on 1-2 of the days, and heavy noise for at least one of the days. Those who work from home or those with anxious pets may need to make other arrangements for the loudest day. ABC will have dumpsters on the street for debris (village permitting), and you can expect debris in the area outside of your home. If one of the days your building is being done lands on a Tuesday (landscaping day), your lawn will probably not be mowed that day and will have to wait for the following week.
Don from ABC mentioned that it is best to remove anything valuable you have hanging on your wall, as the vibrations from the work could cause items to fall off the wall. There are rare cases of tile being damaged, especially if it wasn’t installed correctly. If that happens, ABC will work with you to make repairs.
How will I know when work on my building is set to begin?
You will receive a notice on your door 2-3 days before work is set to begin. The notice will give you a list of things you need to do to prepare.
Can I still park in my driveway while work is ongoing?
Yes.
What color will my building be? What will it look like?
The exact color palette of each building has not yet been decided. If you have a gray roof, you can expect your building to have one of these three color palettes:
Georgian Grey
Deep Brunswick
Bayou Blue
Please note that the Bayou Blue palette can be seen on 2490 Brunswick.
If you have a brown roof, you can expect your building to have one of these two color palettes:
Rich Mocha
Spanish Olive
We will space out the colors of the buildings to give a nice variation. Our goal is that if you are standing on the street looking at your building, you cannot see another building of the same color. This goal may not always be possible though.
Can I pick my building’s color palette?
No. The board will be making this decision to avoid infighting between homeowners.
What do I do if my property or landscaping is damaged?
Workers from ABC will of course do their best not to damage anything. Accidents can and do happen though. The most common accident that happens is scratched or torn window screens. ABC will take pictures of every building before work starts to document the state of the buildings. Homeowners are welcome to also take their own photos. A project manager will always be on site, so you can discuss any damages with them and they will fix them.
For landscaping, please let ABC know of any special vegetation you have. ABC can tent plants to avoid damage. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee no bushes, trees, or other plants will be damaged during the course of the project.
How much will this cost homeowners?
We will be releasing final numbers within the next three weeks.
What about my internet cables?
Internet cables will be tucked under the siding. If you have cables on your building you are no longer using, you can tag them and ABC will know to remove them entirely.
